For this project we were given a fixed cost of production, specific materials to use, requirements to meet in terms of the longevity of the finished product and certain design elements – it had to be simple and modern and blend in with the urban space around it.
Our first step was to carry out a background study into competitors’ products, prices, the key qualities of available products and other related products. We focussed on answering one question in particular: who uses urban furniture? The analysis we carried out went on to form the starting point for our ideas in creating product concepts.
On the basis of the analysis we carried out into the structural solutions of different products, we presented a variety of drafts in accordance with potential competitive advantages, the set price of production and the sales arguments on the market for urban furniture identified as a result of the analysis.
3D plans were produced, which were then used to create sales support materials for the product.
The end result of this process was the launch of the Club series of outdoor furniture, whose production costs ended up being lower than the price set.
The product continues to sell well on its primary markets in Estonia and Finland.
